World Champion Zhao Xintong attended a press conference in Xi'an this week to look forward to the Du Xiaoman 2025 Xi'an Grand Prix.

Leaders from the Chinese Snooker and Billiards Association (CBSA), Shaanxi Provincial Sports Bureau, Shaanxi Tourism Group and other partners, as well as representatives from renowned media outlets, attended the press conference.

Crucible king Zhao, who was born in Xi'an then later moved to Shenzhen, said: "Xi'an is a city with a long history and it means a lot to me to participate in a world-class event here."

Jiang Guan, Deputy Secretary-General of the CBSA, delivered a speech affirming the preparatory work for the tournament and noting that the Xi'an Grand Prix would promote the development of snooker in Northwest China. Gao Qinyin, Party Committee Secretary of Shaanxi Sports Industry Group, stated that since its launch in Xi'an in 2024, the event has become an important part of the global snooker landscape and the group would spare no effort to ensure its success.

Video messages from WPBSA Chairman Jason Ferguson and several leading players were played at the press conference, reflecting the high expectations of the international snooker community for the event.

Zhao Peng, General Manager of Shaanxi Sports Industry Group, confirmed that the event will be held from October 7 to 13 at the Qujiang Athletic Center. Shaanxi Tourism Group and the title sponsor Du Xiaoman jointly introduced the 'Don't Worry' ticket plan, offering consumer discounts to fans.

Kyren Wilson won the inaugural title last year when he beat Judd Trump in the final. Both Wilson and Trump will be in the field again, along with Ding Junhui, Neil Robertson, Mark Williams and many more leading stars. The full draw and format will be confirmed soon.
