John Astley scored a 4-0 whitewash over fellow former professional Sean Maddocks to make it to the last 64 of Q School Event Two in Leicester.

The Gateshead cueman is a former Riga Masters quarter-finalist, but dropped off the circuit at the end of the 23/24 campaign. He top scored with 83 in the final frame of today's victory and now plays Elliot Weston.
World Seniors Champion Alfie Burden continued his good form with a 4-0 whitewash win over Ian Martin. Breaks of 56, 53, 77 and 51 saw him sweep to victory. Burden now faces former Players Championship finalist Gerard Greene, who beat Tony Knowles 4-0.
Stuart Carrington was a 4-1 winner against Adam Abbas, he now plays Brandan Hall, who beat Gary Filtness 4-3.
