The pressure is cranking up in Leicester with those through to round four needing just three more wins to earn a two-year tour card. The last 32 and last 16 will take place on Sunday, with the crucial quarter-finals on Monday.
Former UK Championship semi-finalist Grace, who has missed just one season on the tour since 2011, was in danger of an early exit when he lost the first two frames against Scotland's Young, but hit back with a break of 117 in frame three then added the fourth for 2-2. Young regained the lead with an 81 but Grace finished strongly to take the last two. His next opponent is Switzerland's Alexander Ursenbacher, who top scored with 70 in a 4-2 win over James Cahill.
Liam Pullen impressed in a 4-0 win over Simon Bedford, knocking in breaks of 102, 50 and 71. Germany's Umut Dikme enjoyed a 4-1 win over Joshua Cooper while Estonia's Andres Petrov saw off Anton Kazakov 4-1 with a top break of 73.
