Former European Amateur Champion Andres Petrov got his Q School campaign underway with a 4-0 whitewash win over Westley Cooper on day two of event one in Leicester.
Q School runs until June 1st, with a total of eight tour cards up for grabs over the two events. Watch the action live and free on WST Play or YouTube - for details click here.
Petrov is Estonia's first and only ever professional player. He gained that honour after his win in the European Amateur final against Ben Mertens in 2022. Having since dropped off the circuit, the 28-year-old was one win away from returning earlier this year, but lost his Q Tour Playoff final against Florian Nuessle.
Breaks of 50, 91 and 54 helped Petrov over the line today and saw him earn a third round meeting with Ukrainian former professional Anton Kazakov, who top scored with 72 in a 4-0 win over Adam Abbas.
Recently relegated 19-year-old Liam Pullen came through with a hard fought 4-2 win over 61-year-old Gary Filtness, who has coached the likes of Ronnie O'Sullivan and Stuart Bingham in recent years. Pullen made breaks of 52 and 69 and progresses to play either Simon Bedford, who beat Jason Tart 4-1.
Former English Under-18 Champion Daniel Boyes continued his run with a 4-1 win over Hayden Staniland, while Gerard Greene beat Callum Beresford 4-3.
