Chhay Suon's quest to become Cambodia's first ever snooker professional continued on day two of Asia-Oceania Q School in Bangkok, as he moved three wins away from a place on the World Snooker Tour. 

Suon, who beat former professional Ma Hailong yesterday, scored a 4-1 win over Xu Yichen today to reach the last 16. Suon's top score was a break of 69 and he will now face Liu Linhao. 

Thailand's Chatchapong Nasa prospered on home turf, beating India's Shrikrishna Suryanarayanan and now plays China's Yu Feng. Another Thai star, Nattanapong Chaikul progressed with a 4-1 defeat of Muhammad Khan and faces Pakistan's Moshin Amin next. 

Big names bowed out, Malaysia's former professional Rory Thor lost 4-3 against Xu Jianhao. Meanwhile Thanawat Tirapongpaiboon, the youngest ever player to make a 147, lost 4-3 against recently relegated professional Xing Zihao.
