Phil 'The International Court of Justice' Haigh of the Metro won the Jessie May Media World Championship for the first time, beating Diana Schuler in an exciting final.
Staged in CueZone in the Winter Garden, the tournament is contested by media and broadcasters who cover the main event.
To reach the final, Haigh knocked out WST's Sean Fay, Master of Ceremonies Rob Walker and Snooker Canada commentator David Burney. Schuler, a Director of World Women’s Snooker, beat two-time champion Sam Fletcher as well as WST's Chris Stonadge.
In a tense one-frame final which came down to the colours, Schuler potted the final blue but was unlucky to snooker herself on the pink, and from the chance that followed, Haigh slotted the pink into a centre pocket for victory.
The tournament raised money for WST's official charity Jessie May Children's Hospice at Home. Our thanks go to Chris Lovell, Andrew Highfield and WPBSA for hosting the event in CueZone.
