Judd Trump made his 104th century break of the season in the 18th frame of his Halo World Championship quarter-final against Luca Brecel, beating the record set by Neil Robertson in 2013/14.
World number one Trump had already scooped a £100,000 bonus as the first player to make 100 tons in 2024/25, and he has now reached another landmark.
Robertson became the first player to achieve the 'century of centuries' 11 years ago, and in fact he took his tally into three figures during a quarter-final Crucible clash against Trump in 2014. He went on to score 103 tons that season but that record has now been beaten.
Trump has now made 11 centuries in this tournament and - depending how far he goes - could be on target to break the record of 16 in a single Crucible campaign, set by Stephen Hendry in 2002 and equalled by Mark Williams in 2022.
