Selby beat John Higgins 10-5 in the final in Cheltenham on Sunday night and the £100,000 top prize boosts him from 30th to fifth. Higgins earned £45,000 and he's up from 53rd to 13th. Oliver Lines reached the semi-finals of a ranking event for the first time in his career, earning £20,000 and he jumps from 81st to 36th.

As usual, the top 32 will qualify for the World Grand Prix, then the top 16 will head to the Players Championship in Telford and the top 12 will progress to the Tour Championship in Manchester.

On the official two-year list, Selby moves up one place into fourth, going ahead of Ronnie O'Sullivan. Higgins had a record 29-year unbroken sequenece among the world's top 16 until the recent English Open when he slipped to 17th, but his absence from the elite was a mere seven days as he's now back up to 14th.  Judd Trump remains world number one, leading Kyren Wilson by £497,700.

There are four counting events to go in the Race to the Johnstone's Paint Masters and Higgins is up to 12th so looks on target for a 31st consecutive appearance. Neil Robertson is 16th but has a handy lead of £22,300 over Barry Hawkins.

Having made seven centuries in Cheltenham, Selby now heads the 2024/25 century breaks tally with 21, ahead of Trump on 20. The first player to reach 100 centuries this season will earn a £100,000 bonus.
