John Higgins put on a break building masterclass to brush aside Lyu Haotian 6-1 at the Shanghai Masters and move to a total of 998 centuries in his career.
The legendary Scot, who is beginning of his 30th consecutive season as a member of the top 16, crafted runs of 126, 135 and three further breaks over 50 in today's win.
Higgins said: "I've never really went for centuries over the years. It was always about winning frames, but when you get close to it, then it is a nice milestone. I will hopefully be second only to Ronnie O'Sullivan, which most people are nowadays in different records. I would be the second man to walk on the moon! It would be special."
