Bio
The best player ever to emerge from Iran, Vafaei is a former World Amateur and World Under-21 champion. He added a ranking title to his impressive CV when he triumphed at the Shoot Out in 2022. Vafaei has been in six other ranking semi-finals, inclduing the 2023 UK Championship where he was beaten by Ronnie O'Sullivan. A year after becoming the first Iranian ever to play at the Crucible, he recorded his first win there by knocking out Ding Junhui in 2023. He is known for his flair on the table and animated personality.

| 2022 | Makes history as the first Iranian player to win a world ranking title. His victory over Mark Williams in the BetVictor Shoot Out final is a landmark moment for Vafaei and snooker in Iran. Goes on to become the first Iranian player to compete at the Crucible; he wins two qualifying matches before losing 10-4 to Judd Trump in the last 32.
