Quinn was familiar with the snooker circuit before he joined the tour as he is a close friend of Hossein Vafaei, and in fact was the Iranian's right hand man when he won the Shoot Out in 2022. Northern Ireland's Quinn, who comes from the same town as Dennis Taylor, always had ambitions to prove his own ability at the top level. In 2025 he reached the semi-finals of the WSF Championship, and later that year made it through Q School. Quinn won five matches in Event Two, all by a 4-1 scoreline, beating the likes of Sean O'Sullivan, Ashley Carty and Dean Young to earn a two-year tour card for the first time.
